Our Work in the World
Hanover Friends Meeting Stance on the war in the Middle East as approved at a Called Meeting on February 25, 2024
“We seek a world free of war and the threat of war” is a foundational principle of Quaker public
policy. We are appalled by the destruction of human lives in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel.
Hanover Friends Meeting calls for immediate action:
- permanent ceasefire and humanitarian access for Gaza
- adherence to international human rights law
- cessation of US funding for Israel until it is compliant with international law
- diplomacy to create a just peace
